Carter "Adopts" Atlanta Fire Station Number 10

Carter is proud to support the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation’s Adopt a Fire Station Program. Carter sponsors Atlanta Fire Rescue Station 10—located on Boulevard in Grant Park—who serves the Summerhill area.

The Adopt A Fire Station Program was created to improve the working and living conditions for firefighters and supporting staff at AFRD’s 36 fire stations and auxiliary facilities. Working in 24-hour shifts, stations are not only a workplace but also members’ second home. Everyday household items like washers, dryers, coffee makers, refrigerators, furniture, etc. are used around the clock. When one of these items breaks due to the heavy usage, an immediate replacement may not be covered by the city’s budget. That’s where the Adopt a Fire Station Program comes in.

Through Carter’s sponsorship, the men and women of Station 10 have been able to complete projects like bathroom rehabs and upgrading the station’s aging furniture. Recent purchases include a commercial style gas grill, an air compressor, gym weights, and seven recliners for the TV room.

In addition to our sponsorship, Carter enjoys bringing Georgia Avenue dining to the men and women of Station 10 to make sure they’re well fed.

“What the men and women of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department do on a daily basis is awesome and inspiring,” says Adam Parker, Director at Carter and Chair of the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation’s Young Executives Board. “We’re proud to support our local Fire Station and have really enjoyed getting to know everyone at Station 10 through the Adopt a Fire Station program.”
